Chrissy Andrews
(Born: 5/30/1993  Shaken: 10/22/1993  ANGEL: 02/13/2007)

Chrissy is my 13 yr. old granddaughter/adopted daughter who was shaken at 4 months old by either her mom or her dad.  Never found out which but both spent considerable time in prison for it.

Because she was shaken she is totally dependent for her care, is legally blind, has seizures, is fed thru a tube in her tummy, will never walk, talk and will always have the learning capacity of an infant.  And she will always be my angel here on earth.

She has the most beautiful smile.  Her care is getting harder as she/and I get older but as long as I have her and her smile I have no problem caring for her because she makes it so worthwhile. My biggest regret is that she'll never be able to do thing other girls get to do (bake cookies with gram, tell me about her boyfriends, go to prom, etc) , that she's missing so much .  I will say, that with all of her disabilities, she can be as fresh as any other child, just in different ways.  We call her "da brat" and she smiles whenever she hears it.  Chrissy and I have taken our message to schools here in NH that it's never ok to shake a baby.  I think seeing her says so much more than any words I can say.

I don't know what the future holds for Chrissy but I do know that it will be the best possible and most comfortable she can have as long as she can have it.
