DESCRIPTION:HYBRID EVENT (In-person and Virtual)\nCLICK HERE TO PURCHASE TICKETS\n\nAccording to the National Center for Elder Abuse\, research and practice have shown approximately 1 in 10 Americans aged 60+ have experienced some form of abuse. \nStudies show that nearly 50% of those with dementia experienced abuse or neglect. Interpersonal violence occurs at higher rates among adults with disabilities.  This past year of COVID-related issues such as isolation\, financial stress\, and concerns about health—led to increased depression and anxiety\, making older adults and people with disabilities more susceptible to abuse and neglect.  The elderly and people with disabilities need our help to be protected now\, more than ever before. \nThis two-day conference addresses the challenges of elder abuse and neglect. Successful case outcomes depend on the investigator having the knowledge and skills to develop a solid legal case. This includes a thorough medical examination\, proper diagnosis\, a complete and timely investigation\, and knowledgeable responses by civil and criminal legal systems.
