From Cradle to Cane, Investigations of Crimes Against Vulnerable Victims, is the only national conference focused on the physical abuse of helpless victims, from infants to the elderly. In its second year, the purpose of the conference is to give the Multidisciplinary Team Professional (MDT) a broad base understanding of the medical aspects of physical abuse to build the investigation on scientific forensic principles. No single entity is responsible for the complex aspects of a physical abuse case. Professionals charged with the responsibility to diagnose, investigate, prosecute and prevent these cases face many challenges. Our most vulnerable victims often cannot tell us what has happened to them. Instead, the investigation is dependent upon the training, knowledge, and experience of the Multidisciplinary Team Professional   (MDT) charged with the duty to investigate and protect these victims. This conference highlights those complexities.   It is based on the philosophy that MDT professionals with a strong foundational understanding of the medical aspects of abuse from birth to death and current forensic investigative techniques will be able to utilize their knowledge to ask the right questions that impact case decisions and find justice. MDT professionals will be provided with the tools necessary to investigate, prosecute, and ultimately protect the most vulnerable.

Target Audience: Law Enforcement, First Responders, Death Scene Investigators, ,Mental Health Providers,Social Workers, Child Protection Staff, Adult Protection Staff,  Medical Practitioners, Dentists, Prevention Specialists,  Child Advocates, Medical Examiners, Coroners, Legal Personnel, Domestic Violence Specialists.
