Felicia Hernandez
Prevention and Social Media Director
Felicia Hernandez earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice from Texas Wesleyan University in 2012. She began her career as a Bilingual Youth Intervention Specialist at Catholic Charities, empowering youth through skill-building and support. Transitioning to the criminal justice field, she served as a Community Supervision Officer with Tarrant County CSCD, gaining deep insights into the criminal justice system and risk factors for criminal behavior.
Driven by her passion for youth, Felicia became a Prevention Education Specialist at Safe Haven of Tarrant County, where she educated high school students on domestic violence prevention. Inspired by her classroom experience, she obtained her Family and Consumer Science teaching certification and taught at Sam Houston High School.
In July 2021, Felicia joined The Shaken Baby Alliance as the C.O.P.E. Educator, dedicated to preventing shaken baby syndrome through comprehensive education. She played a key role in developing the “When Babies Cry… We C.O.P.E.” curriculum and expanding its reach by marketing it to schools and community agencies. She also actively participated in community events to raise awareness and provide resources for managing frustration when dealing with a crying baby or life stressors.
Now serving as the Director of Prevention Education and Social Media, she continues to leverage her skills in addressing systemic issues to support and empower at-risk populations.
