Before founding Switzer/Oney law firm, Mrs. Switzer devoted 14 years of her 18-year career as a Prosecutor. In 2005 Mrs. Switzer was appointed by Governor Rick Perry as the first woman District Attorney of the 31st Judicial District where she served continuously until returning to private practice in 2012. Prior to moving into public service as an Assistant District Attorney, Mrs. Switzer had a private law practice. Mrs. Switzer’s time both as a private attorney and as a Prosecutor has given her extensive experience in the courtroom. To date she has tried over 90 cases involving crimes against our most vulnerable victims including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and children. Mrs. Switzer received her Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from the College of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico in 1991, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Texas Tech School of Law in 1997. Mrs. Switzer has served on the Board of the Texas County and District Attorney’s Association, The Texas County and District Attorney’s Foundation.
